DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST – FULL TIME

Looking to Hire:(Upon award) A driven professional with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance, and A+ Certificate.   Experience:  1-2 years as a Desktop Support Specialist, preferably with the federal government. Job Location Rome, NY.

As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will:

Tasks included as a Desktop Support Specialist:  

  • Perform trouble ticket management by responding to initial customer contact and troubleshooting triage.
  • Assist clients with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology.
  • Support the specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals
  • Promptly apply latest patches or updates for the operating system / software.
  • Work with Customer Support and Network Operations staff to determine and resolve problems from the clients.
  • Track ticket status using Remedy and update technical notes in detail, within a three-day period.
  • Resolve Remedy tickets within the contract requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Desktop Support Specialist
  • High School Diploma Required
  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent required

IT HELP DESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST – PART TIME

Looking to Hire: (Upon award) IT Help Desk Support Specialist with the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance, A+ Certificate and 1-2 years of experience as an IT Help Desk Support Specialist preferably with Federal Government. Job Location Rome, NY.

As an IT Help Desk Support Specialist, you will:

A week in the life of an IT Help Desk Support Specialist:

  • Responsible for providing technical support and assistance
  • Use software systems engineering and applications skill sets to execute resolutions for service restoral to include root cause analysis reporting.
  • Serve as the first level technician (Tier 1) for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in the Remedy ticketing system.
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information.
