DESKTOP SUPPORT SPECIALIST – FULL TIME
Looking to Hire:(Upon award) A driven professional with the ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance, and A+ Certificate. Experience: 1-2 years as a Desktop Support Specialist, preferably with the federal government. Job Location Rome, NY.
As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will:
- Be the Primary point of contact for technical support regarding telephone and e-mail requests.

Tasks included as a Desktop Support Specialist:
- Perform trouble ticket management by responding to initial customer contact and troubleshooting triage.
- Assist clients with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology.
- Support the specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals
- Promptly apply latest patches or updates for the operating system / software.
- Work with Customer Support and Network Operations staff to determine and resolve problems from the clients.
- Track ticket status using Remedy and update technical notes in detail, within a three-day period.
- Resolve Remedy tickets within the contract requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Desktop Support Specialist
- High School Diploma Required
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent required

IT HELP DESK SUPPORT SPECIALIST – PART TIME
Looking to Hire: (Upon award) IT Help Desk Support Specialist with the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance, A+ Certificate and 1-2 years of experience as an IT Help Desk Support Specialist preferably with Federal Government. Job Location Rome, NY.

A week in the life of an IT Help Desk Support Specialist:
- Responsible for providing technical support and assistance
- Use software systems engineering and applications skill sets to execute resolutions for service restoral to include root cause analysis reporting.
- Serve as the first level technician (Tier 1) for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
- Walk the customer through the problem-solving process.
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
- Record events and problems and their resolution in the Remedy ticketing system.
- Follow-up and update customer status and information.
